The Collector Guide
Hermès around the world
What collectors report about boutiques in different cities and countries, with the reasons no reliable ranking exists.

MyQuotaBag is an independent app and is not affiliated with Hermès International or any of its affiliates. This page summarizes public reports from collectors and publishers. It is not verified fact and states no Hermès rule. Each boutique and country works differently and practices change. These are general observations shared without commitment. We do not claim that pre-spend exists or that any amount is required. Collectors describe bags going to established clients who buy over time, come back and build a relationship with their boutique. No outcome, offer or allocation is predicted or guaranteed.

Every answer carries its status. Official: stated by Hermès or by a primary record such as an auction result or a government page. Reported: stated by publishers or collectors, not by Hermès. Conflicting: collector reports give incompatible versions; the page shows them side by side. Unknown: no reliable answer yet.
Which Hermès boutiques are the most competitive?
No one can rank Hermès boutiques reliably: Hermès publishes nothing on it and public reports are uneven, though collectors most often describe Toronto, Vancouver and some of the largest US boutiques as competitive.

A count of reports says where collectors write, not how hard a boutique is. MyQuotaBag's own check found higher reported Purchase Ratios in Toronto than in Vancouver, the opposite of what collectors say, on only 4 Vancouver reports: too few to rank a city (September 10, 2026).
What collectors say about specific cities, in discussions read on October 3, 2026 (opinions without comparable data; moderators of the forum themselves flag some accounts as false):
- New York (Madison Avenue): described as very competitive, with hearsay of clients at 4.00:1 without an offer.
- Los Angeles: Beverly Hills described as asking 3.00:1 to 5.00:1 depending on the bag, Topanga as easier with less stock; details on How does pre-spend compare between Los Angeles boutiques?
- Washington, D.C.: one collector reports that 20,000 of purchases over a year and a half was not enough.
- Vancouver and Toronto: Vancouver described with 1.50:1 to 2.00:1 as realistic, Toronto as slow with frequent changes of Sales Associate; details on How much pre-spend do collectors report in Canada?
- Southern California: described as extremely competitive in several discussions.
In Paris, the three stores are hard for visitors because leather goods appointments are drawn from online requests: see How do I get a leather goods appointment at Hermès in Paris? Purchase history is reported to follow the client from one country to another (PurseBop, 2022).
Where MyQuotaBag fits
MyQuotaBag records the boutique of each purchase and visit, so a collection bought in several cities stays in one private record. See the app.

How this page was written
Each section answers one question in its first sentence, then gives the details. Every answer carries its status and its date and the sources are listed with their dates at the end of the page. What collectors report is written as reported, never as an Hermès rule. Collector discussions are counted by platform; a thread is linked only where it supports a specific point and never when it tells one person's story. Figures from MyQuotaBag Data are read from the dataset each time the page is built.
Community insights currently come from public research and community reports, not private MyQuotaBag user data. Any future use of user data will be anonymized, aggregated and controlled through the app's privacy settings. How this data is built
