How this data is built

Updated on 2026-10-03

Nothing weak is thrown away and nothing weak is quietly promoted. Every number keeps a link back down to where it came from.

MyQuotaBag is an independent app and is not affiliated with Hermès International or any of its affiliates. This page summarizes public reports from collectors and publishers. It is not verified fact and states no Hermès rule. Each boutique and country works differently and practices change. These are general observations shared without commitment. We do not claim that pre-spend exists or that any amount is required. Collectors describe bags going to established clients who buy over time, come back and build a relationship with their boutique. No outcome, offer or allocation is predicted or guaranteed.

Private by design

MyQuotaBag keeps your personal journey private. Community insights currently published by MyQuotaBag are based on publicly available research and community reports, not private MyQuotaBag user data.

In the future, users may have the option to contribute anonymized information to aggregated community insights. Individual users, purchases and personal details will never be displayed.

Six layers, from noise to answer

  1. Raw internet. Everything a research pass found, including the weak, the odd and the contradictory. Nothing is deleted here.
  2. Extracted evidence. The usable pieces pulled out of each source, without deciding yet what is true.
  3. Normalized observations. What we observe, with how often it shows up and how confident we are.
  4. Aggregated signals. Where the arithmetic happens and only when we can redo it.
  5. Canonical knowledge. Our current best answer, including the answer "we do not know yet".
  6. Public pages and machine endpoints. What you are reading. Same source for both.

How we rank evidence

Tier 1: official and authoritative
Hermès itself, court filings, government, tax and customs sources.
Tier 2: measured by MyQuotaBag
Aggregates we can recompute from the individual records behind them.
Tier 3: first-person public reports
Public collector discussions, video journeys and interviews. Someone telling their own story.
Tier 4: specialist synthesis
Specialist publications and documented blogs.
Tier 5: community aggregate
"People at my store say", city consensus, thread summaries.
Tier 6: raw or weak signal
SEO blogs, snippets, unverified claims, AI research output with no records behind it.

A weak tier is never deleted. It stays where it belongs and it is read as what it is.

Reported is not the same as measured

A figure is reported when a research pass tells us it counted something. It is measured only when we hold the individual records and can redo the calculation ourselves. Those two are marked differently on every page and we never quietly turn one into the other.

The Purchase Ratio benchmark is measured: the 174 offer reports behind it are filed one by one in our dataset and the median is recomputed on every update.

What we refuse to do

Version and history

Three dates, three meanings. Observations through 2026-09-30, the most recent dated collector report in the dataset. Computed on 2026-10-03, the last day the figures changed. Reviewed on, shown on each topic page, the date a person last reread that topic. Research pack MQB-RP001-QUOTA-RATIO-2026-09. Benchmarks are versioned by date and older versions are kept, so a figure that changes can be read as a series instead of a correction.

The aggregated figures in MyQuotaBag Data are published under CC BY 4.0: reuse them freely with a credit to MyQuotaBag Data and a link to the page. The Collector Guide, the Monthly Brief and the rest of the site are not covered by this license.
