How to read these prices
An asking price is what a seller asks on a public listing. It is not what a buyer paid: a bag can sell below its asking price, sit unsold for months or be withdrawn. MyQuotaBag publishes asking prices because they are public and observable every day; sale prices are not.
Each figure is a median: half of the listings in the group ask more and half ask less. The middle half shows the range covered by the central 50 percent of listings. A group needs at least 5 listings before a median is shown.
Classic means the standard leather versions, Retourne and unspecified construction together. Sellier, exotic skins and the other versions are counted apart because they are listed at different levels. Pristine groups listings described as new, pristine, unworn or never worn; everything else is pre-owned. Size, version, leather and color are read from the listing title, so a title that names no leather or no color stays out of that table.
Listings come from resellers in the United States, Europe and Asia, with prices shown in US dollars by the listing platform. Each listing counts once per snapshot, whichever site carries it.
What have Hermès bags sold for at auction?
As of October 2026, the highest price ever paid for an Hermès bag at auction is €8,582,500 with fees, about US$10.1 million, for Jane Birkin's original Birkin at Sotheby's Paris on July 10, 2025; the highest 2026 result found is €635,000 for a Birkin 20 Faubourg (limited-edition design) in Rouge Sellier (red), in a press report for Christie's June 2026 lots in Paris.
Unlike the asking prices above, these are sale prices. They describe rare pieces, not the bags most collectors buy or sell.

Prices are shown in the currency of the sale. The Christie's Paris results of June 2026 are those a press report gives for the online sale “Handbags Online: The Paris Edit” (June 12 to 24, 2026), which Christie's shows with a total of €5,836,666. The press did not say whether these figures include fees. Sources give US$510,000 to US$515,000 for the 2021 Christie's Kelly and the day of that sale differs between November 25 and 26.
