MyQuotaBag is an independent app and is not affiliated with Hermès International or any of its affiliates. This page summarizes public reports from collectors and publishers. It is not verified fact and states no Hermès rule. Each boutique and country works differently and practices change. These are general observations shared without commitment. We do not claim that pre-spend exists or that any amount is required. Collectors describe bags going to established clients who buy over time, come back and build a relationship with their boutique. No outcome, offer or allocation is predicted or guaranteed.

On this page

Every answer carries its status. Official: stated by Hermès or by a primary record such as an auction result or a government page. Reported: stated by publishers or collectors, not by Hermès. Conflicting: collector reports give incompatible versions; the page shows them side by side. Unknown: no reliable answer yet.

What can you buy on the Hermès website?

Hermès says its website offers an in-stock selection chosen by its boutiques; collectors most often find bags such as the Picotin, Lindy and Evelyne, men's bags, silk, shoes and jewelry there.

Details and sources

Hermès sells leather goods, silk, jewelry, shoes, Ready-to-Wear, home and beauty online, in stock only. It invites clients to visit the website often, along with their local store, as the selection changes.

The bags collectors most often mention seeing online are the Picotin, Lindy, Evelyne, Herbag, Garden Party, Bolide, 24/24 and Della Cavalleria. Men's bags appear often, such as the Kelly Messenger in the United States and the Victoria and Bolide Messenger on the French website.

Travel and men's styles led the US page: the Hac à Dos, the Videpoches, the Kelly Messenger and the Kelly Dépêches. The Picotin, Lindy and 24/24 showed one or two listings each. The selection changes often, so one reading is a snapshot, not a catalog.

Can you buy a Birkin, Kelly or Constance on the Hermès website?

Hermès offers the Birkin and the classic Kelly only in its stores. Its US, Australian and most Asian websites keep the Constance in stores too.

Where the Constance is not named, MyQuotaBag has not seen one either, in its readings of the US, Canadian and French websites. "Kelly" on the website is not always the Kelly handbag: on October 23, 2026 the US bags page showed Kelly Messenger bags and Kelly Dépêches pouches and briefcases, not the classic Kelly.

Can you return an online order to a boutique?

In the United States, a boutique can exchange an online order or offer store credit within 30 days of delivery; refunds are handled by the website.

The piece must be in its original condition and a prepaid label is provided for returns by mail. The French website also handles refunds for online orders itself.

Can you have a home boutique when you live far away?

Some collectors do, visiting one home boutique a few times a year and buying through their Sales Associate in between.

Status: Reported · four collector reports read through 2026-10-23, all in the United States, one told in detail with names removed; PurseBop (2022) · As of 2026-10-23

Details and sources

MyQuotaBag found four recent reports from collectors who live far from their boutique, all in the United States. Each one mixed visits with buying from a distance, for example:

  • visits about twice a year, with payment links and shipping in between;
  • a visit every two to four months;
  • two private events at the boutique, with purchases by payment link in between.

One story from October 2026. A collector with no Hermès boutique in her state began with a Texas boutique in February: a Picotin 18 and a few small pieces on a visit, then scarves and jewelry by payment link from her Sales Associate. In May she was invited to a private event, where her Sales Associate asked whether she would like a Birkin or a Kelly and she chose a Birkin 25 in Noir. After a second event in June, she received exactly that bag in October, about eight months after her first purchase. She says she would have bought every piece anyway.

Four reports are too few to show a pattern and collectors tend to share these stories when something good happens. Still, in every one of them the visits mattered as much as the purchases. PurseBop's advice to a reader with no store in her city is simple: choose one boutique and be loyal to it.

One practical note: in Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon, handbags and Small Leather Goods ordered on the Hermès US website are collected in a boutique in another state rather than delivered home.

Can you get a tax refund on an online order collected in Paris?

It depends on the boutique: one collector received a 10% refund at pickup in Paris in October 2026, while older forum posts describe other outcomes.

Status: Conflicting · one collector report from October 2026 and older forum excerpts; Hermès's French FAQ read on 2026-10-23 does not mention tax refunds · As of 2026-10-23

Details and sources

In October 2026, a visitor ordered a 24/24 mini on the French website, collected it at Faubourg Saint-Honoré and had the refund processed in the store. Older forum posts describe refusals or a return and repurchase. Hermès's French FAQ does not mention tax refunds, so ask the boutique before you order. The rules for visitors are on Visiting Hermès Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

Do online purchases count toward pre-spend?

Collectors disagree: most say an order placed alone on the Hermès website does not count with their boutique, while one placed with the Sales Associate's help may.

Status: Conflicting · collector discussions 2024 to 2026 and PurseBop (2022, 2023); Hermès says nothing about pre-spend · As of 2026-10-23

Details and sources

Hermès says a piece reserved online and paid for in a boutique is a store sale, not a website sale. It does not say what that means for a Sales Associate. Collectors' reports, counted one by one, are on Does online spend count toward a quota bag?

Where MyQuotaBag fits

MyQuotaBag keeps every purchase in one place, from the boutique, a payment link or the website, with its receipt and the boutique it belongs to. It does not predict an offer. See the app.

How this page was written

Each section answers one question in its first sentence, then gives the details. Every answer carries its status and its date and the sources are listed with their dates at the end of the page. What collectors report is written as reported, never as an Hermès rule. Collector discussions are counted by platform; a thread is linked only where it supports a specific point and never when it tells one person's story. Figures from MyQuotaBag Data are read from the dataset each time the page is built.
