Hermès November 2026 Brief: Spring 2027 Bags, Softer Fall Trends and Boutique Discoveries

Since our October edition, Paris Fashion Week has brought new bags into view, collectors have started planning for the holidays and financial analysts have renewed their questions about luxury demand. We also look at a new boutique in Brooklyn and an expanded store in Chengdu.

Three things to keep in mind:

  • Spring-Summer 2027 presentations are a first look at designs, not a delivery schedule.
  • The fall mood across the houses is ease: softer shapes and bags made to be used.
  • Analysts are debating scarcity. That conversation says nothing about a particular boutique or offer.

Six new Hermès bags for Spring 2027

Hermès showed its Women's Spring-Summer 2027 collection on October 3 at the Garde Républicaine in Paris. Nadège Vanhée built it around one idea: leather made light. Laser-cut and perforated suede, skirts sliced into strips, zips that open for air. The house described it as "the shape of air".

The bags followed the same mood: softer shapes, fewer closures and a few designs brought back from the archives.

PurseBop announced six new bags. Among the designs it covered, the Bridlelock reworks the Toolbox with a single tubular handle and a long flat strap. The Rênes is a structured tote with no hardware at all, opened by pulling leather cords. The Saut is a curved, open hobo on a long strap, finished with a Cadena padlock.

The archives supplied the rest. A mini Collier de Chien To Go revisits a 1950s design. The Mangeoire, a bucket bag from 1949, returns with a metal top handle. And the Toron backpack mixes a fishnet-like body with calfskin trim.

These are runway pieces. Nothing in the coverage gives a delivery date or a market, so a first crush belongs on a wishlist note, not in a plan.

The details that stole the show

The Re-See, the closer look that follows the runway, was even more fun. A white Box calfskin Kelly covered in beadwork and embroidered flowers. A pearly Constance with black beads scattered toward the center. A braided Mini Bolide. A sunny yellow Le Petit Sac embroidered with blueberries.

Accessories had their moment too: an oversized sterling silver Olympe cuff without its leather inlay and a bag charm called Baseball Budy, complete with jersey, cap and a tiny bat.

Familiar shapes, new treatments. It is a good reminder that what makes a piece special is often the detail, not the name.

Beyond Hermès: a busy Paris week

Hermès was not the only house with a lot to show. At Chanel, Matthieu Blazy presented 66 new bags for Spring-Summer 2027, mixing house icons with bold proportions and unexpected finishes. Louis Vuitton put the Monogram Flower in the spotlight, on new pochettes, flap bags and a bowling style. At Dior, Jonathan Anderson presented a fresh lineup of handbags for Summer 2027.

For collectors who love more than one house, this is the season to look, compare and take notes. Nothing needs deciding before the pieces reach a boutique.

While Paris looked ahead to spring, the fall collections arrived on shelves. Harper's Bazaar named seven bag trends for the season. A few stand out for anyone building a collection.

  • The retro top-handle, seen at Prada, Miu Miu and Hermès.
  • Soft and slouchy: Chanel's Maxi Flap, Balenciaga's soft Rodeo and Saint Laurent's Maxi Suede Flap.
  • The It-bag revival, with the Chloé Paddington, the Fendi Baguette and the Balenciaga City back in the conversation.
  • Croc-embossed textures at Prada, Gucci and Chanel.
  • Oversize totes from Celine, Loewe and Proenza Schouler.

The common thread is ease. Bags that are carried, used and lived with rather than kept pristine. It is a mood that suits a collection you actually wear.

Why the financial world is watching Hermès

October also brought an unusual headline. On October 5, Goldman Sachs and UBS issued sell ratings on Hermès shares, the first in more than a year according to Bloomberg. UBS cut its price target from €1,695 to €1,168. Its argument: as Hermès grows, scarcity may weaken and demand may become more cyclical. HSBC and CIC lowered their targets the next day.

Context matters. In the first half of 2026, Hermès revenue reached €8.2 billion, up 6% at constant exchange rates, with a 41% recurring operating margin. Third-quarter revenue is due on October 22.

The same question is being asked on the collector side. A recent PurseBlog essay asked whether the Birkin has lost its crown. For collectors, a share price says nothing about a boutique, a wishlist or an offer. It does say the world is paying close attention to how rare these bags really are.

Boutique discoveries: Brooklyn and Chengdu

Brooklyn. Hermès opened its Williamsburg store on September 19, on North 6th Street. Two floors present all sixteen of the house's métiers. The Parisian agency RDAI designed it to feel like a traditional Brooklyn workshop, with five distinct façades and work by local artists on the walls and floors.

Chengdu. Four days later, on September 23, the expanded store at Taikoo Li reopened in Sichuan. Bamboo screens filter the daylight, black ceramics recall Sichuan pottery and a hand-tufted carpet in the leather goods area evokes steam drifting from the city's tea houses.

Two cities, one idea: a boutique that belongs to its neighborhood. Worth a visit for the space itself, even when the visit ends without a purchase.

What collectors asked this month

On the forums, the holidays were already in the air. Three discussions on r/TheHermesGame caught our attention on October 10 and 11.

When to mention a wishlist bag. Collectors described very different moments: on a first visit, around a 1.00:1 Purchase Ratio, after about a year. No ratio or number of visits stood out as a rule. In most of the stories where a wish was noted early, the client had mentioned it first.

Do Small Leather Goods count? Answers conflicted. Some were told wallets, card holders and charms do not count toward a bag. Others were told every purchase counts. Nobody in the discussion reported that these purchases counted against them. Choose gifts for the person receiving them and keep any comments about purchase history attributed to the boutique conversation where they arose.

Is New York really 1:1? Five collectors from the Madison Avenue boutique reported Birkin 25 offers between 2.00:1 and 3.00:1. Five accounts from one boutique are a snapshot, not a threshold.

Personal stories are valuable. They describe one client, one boutique, one moment. We read them for context and do not turn them into rules. That work lives in MyQuotaBag Data, never inside the app.

Founder's note

Collected memories. AI-generated image for MyQuotaBag.

One reason I started MyQuotaBag was simple: I wanted a better way to remember our own journey.

The more I read collector communities, the more I saw useful information scattered across conversations. Someone receives a bag after a few visits. Someone else waits more than a year. One collector is told a purchase counts. Another hears the opposite. Both may be telling the truth.

That is why context matters more than a single number. And it is worth remembering what makes collecting enjoyable: the craftsmanship, the pieces we choose, the conversations and sometimes the friendships along the way. A wishlist can be exciting without becoming a reason to buy things we do not love.

Your November check-in

  • For anything new that caught your eye this season, note the date, the source and one sentence on why you like it.
  • Keep the advice you receive about pieces and their availability, dated, in your own words.
  • Keep holiday gifts in your records like any other purchase.
  • Run the Purchase Ratio Calculator for a snapshot, not a forecast.

In MyQuotaBag, snap a paper receipt or save a piece from a screenshot of its page. Purchase Orders keep a piece ordered but not yet paid or received apart, so it does not count before it should. Wishlist items, visits and notes all have their place. Free on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Coming up in a future edition: the bag you already have and how to protect and store it between uses. If you have not met them yet, Charlotte and her Grandma now have their own little series on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. It is fiction, the bags are drawn and we are not Hermès.

This edition combines published reports, official Hermès pages, financial press and public collector discussions. Nothing here is investment advice.
