Brief creation story
The story, in brief
This note has its own sources and limits. The inherited catalogue metadata elsewhere on this page remains provisional.
In Katie Scott’s Precious Paradise, Hermès describes a garden of improbable companions. A flower-gathering monkey interrupts two penguins; elsewhere, a lizard meets a swan and a lemur converses with a parrot. Fountains inspired by seventeenth-century engravings provide the setting. The house’s story brings these animals together as an imagined meeting of East and West, not as a record of a real habitat.[1]
One documented interpretation carries the design into eveningwear. Reference H594094S 02 is a silk-twill scarf with hand-rolled edges, printed and entirely hand-embroidered with glass microbeads and described as made in India. These details belong to that particular version: they should not be used to describe every Precious Paradise scarf.[1]
The story makes room for a kind of sociable fantasy. Its creatures do not have to share a continent to share a conversation. Read this way, paradise is less a destination than the possibility of an encounter without rivalry.
First-edition year: not established by these sources.
